TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT
ShiELD provides full technical management of vessels and offshore units, adopting a practical and operations driven approach where safety, reliability and efficiency are the primary drivers.
A vessel’s performance and operational continuity are directly linked to the quality of its technical management, and ShiELD delivers structured, hands on support to ensure assets are safely maintained in full compliance with Class, Flag and applicable regulations.
The service includes maintenance planning and control, technical budget management, continuous monitoring of structural and mechanical condition, supervision of repairs, dry dockings and UWILDs, as well as vessel inspections and surveys.
The objective is to ensure seaworthiness and preserve the long term value of the asset, while safeguarding crew, cargo and the environment in which operations are carried out.
OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
ShiELD supports and manages complex marine operations, with particular expertise in offshore transhipment, STS, tug and barge operations, and floating crane activities, always placing safety and operational control at the forefront.
We provide dedicated operational procedures, coordination of marine activities, interface with Charterers, Terminals and Authorities, and on site operational support when required.
The objective is to ensure safe execution of operations, operational continuity and consistent achievement of agreed performance levels.
CREW MANAGEMENT
Powered by decades of experience, ShiELD manages the full seafarer lifecycle, with a strong focus on specialised vessels and technically demanding operational environments.
Our integrated approach includes recruitment, training and development, certification management, crew planning, payroll, welfare and ongoing competence monitoring.
Particular attention is given to crew stability, retention and suitability for the specific operational profile of each asset, ensuring that manning supports safe and efficient operations.
HSE MANAGEMENT
ShiELD provides structured HSE systems and operational support aligned with ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL and recognised industry best practices.
Our activities include development and implementation of Safety Management Systems, operational risk assessments, HSE procedures, audits, inspections, incident investigation and reporting.
Our approach is pragmatic and risk based, focused on real operational hazards and effective risk control rather than formal compliance alone.
SAFETY & SPECIFIC TRAINING
ShiELD develops and delivers safety and operational training programmes, placing safety at the core and tailoring each course to the specific asset and operational context.
We provide a structured portfolio of Safety and Specific Training Modules aligned with the company’s SMS, the ISM Code and recognised industry best practices.
Training is based on real procedures, practical operational scenarios and structured competence assessments, including pre and post training tests. Delivery is carried out by dedicated instructors with decades of hands on experience across different environments and operational settings, working with all types of crews, from conventional vessels to specialised offshore units.
Training is conducted both on board and ashore, supported by digital assessments, performance tracking and evaluation reports that measure learning progress, procedural alignment and safe operational performance.
The objective is to improve operational behaviour, reduce incidents and ensure crews are genuinely prepared to operate safely in the environments in which they work.
